You can check environmental indicators such as CO2 emissions from your taxi usage by opening the details from Usage History / Receipt.
This will display the amount of CO2 emitted by your taxi rides and the amount of CO2 reduced by choosing eco-friendly taxis.
Display Details
CO2 Emissions
- This is the amount of CO2 emissions in grams, calculated from the vehicle type and travel distance, using the method below.
- If the emissions cannot be calculated, "-" will be displayed.
CO2 Emissions (g) = CO2 emissions per vehicle type (g/km) × Travel distance (km)
CO2 Reduction
- This indicates the CO2 reduction compared to a Crown Comfort (CO2 emissions: 170 g/km).
- The CO2 reduction in grams is calculated using the method below.
CO2 Reduction (g) = Crown Comfort vehicle CO2 emissions - CO2 emissions of the vehicle actually ridden
*This is a reduction amount, so it will only be displayed if a reduction occurred.
Travel Distance
- This is the travel distance of the taxi from the Pickup location to the destination.
- Since this is an estimated distance from the Pickup location and destination, it may differ from the actual travel distance.
Vehicle Type
- This is the name of the taxi vehicle.
Important Notes
- The environmental indicator values are reference values at the time this service is provided and may differ from actual CO2 emission reductions. Please understand the content in "About the Calculation Method for Environmental Indicator Values" below when using the environmental indicators.
- We may not be able to obtain information on "CO2 emissions by vehicle type" or "travel distance." In such cases, please note that the CO2 reduction amount cannot be displayed.
Since "CO2 emissions by vehicle type" uses values published by each manufacturer, if a manufacturer changes these values, the environmental indicators on this service will also change.
Even in such cases, the environmental indicators displayed before the change will not be updated.
About the Calculation Method for Environmental Indicator Values
Supervised by Mr. Sakamoto and Mr. Suehiro, The Institute of Energy Economics, Japan
The following values are used as basic unit for CO2 emissions:
- LPG: 1670.44 (g-CO2/L)
- Gasoline: 2321.66 (g-CO2/L)
- Electricity: 441.00 (g-CO2/kWh)
- Hydrogen: 11083.60 (g-CO2/kg)
The CO2 emission basic units above are derived from the following sources:
- LPG and Gasoline: "Emission Factor Database ver3.2 (Source: Ministry of the Environment)"
- Electricity: The value for "Tokyo Electric Power Company Energy Partner, Inc." under "Overall Business" in the "List of Emission Factors by Electric Utility (Source: Ministry of the Environment)"
- Hydrogen: The value for "CO2 emissions during hydrogen production from natural gas reforming" on page 12 of the "9th CO2-free Hydrogen WG Secretariat Submission (Source: Agency for Natural Resources and Energy)"
The fuel efficiency for each vehicle type uses figures published by the respective manufacturers.
