When using GO Pay (credit card payment), GO performs a credit authorization for an amount such as 2 yen.
This is intended to prevent issues before they occur, such as being unable to complete the payment due to an insufficient balance at the time of payment.
Please rest assured that even if the charged amount remains on your statement, it will be refunded at a later date.
What is credit authorization?
Credit authorization is the process where a merchant queries the card company for the user's credit information at the time of payment to confirm if the transaction is possible.
Specifically, it refers to a pre-approval process where the merchant checks with the card issuer regarding the validity of the card when a customer uses it.
* Credit authorization is not unique to our service and always occurs whenever you use your card.
Timing of credit authorization
Credit authorization will be processed at the following times.
- When a customer requests a taxi via the GO App
- When a customer boards a street-hailed taxi and performs the GO Pay payment procedure on the rear seat tablet
* For some services such as "Reservation", "GO ECONOMY", and "Charter", credit authorization will be processed at the time of reservation.
* When using a "Priority ticket", credit authorization will be processed at the time you agree to use the "Priority ticket".
Timing when credit authorization is canceled
It may take some time before the credit authorization is canceled.
<Please note>
With debit card or prepaid card payments, the amount will be immediately deducted from your bank account after the credit authorization.
Please rest assured that even if the charged amount remains on your statement, it will be refunded at a later date.
In the unlikely event that you cannot confirm the refund after some time has passed, please contact us from the in-app [Inquiries] or from here.
