Number of passengers allowed in a taxi
The maximum number of passengers who can ride in a standard taxi is 4 adults.
(Up to 5 people including the driver)
Normally, the capacity by vehicle type selectable in the GO App is as follows:
- All Taxis : Up to 4 people
- Vehicles with sliding doors : Up to 4 people
- JPN TAXI : Up to 4 people
* In rare cases, a large taxi vehicle may be requested.

How to count children
When children ride in a taxi, the counting method is different from that for adults.
Under the Road Traffic Act, children are defined as under 12 years old, and are counted as follows:
1.5 children under 12 years old = 1 adult
(3 children count as 2 adults)

Number of adults + Number of children × 2/3 = 4 people or fewer (rounded up to the nearest whole number)
Examples of riding:
1 adult + 4 children (4 people)
2 adults + 3 children (4 people)
3 adults + 1 child (4 people)
4 adults + 0 children (4 people)

・The number of passengers is the maximum capacity and does not guarantee that this number of people can be accommodated.
(In rare cases, passengers may not be able to board due to luggage conditions, etc.)
・In the GO App, it is not possible to specify the number of passengers when requesting a taxi.
・For large groups or when requesting a taxi with a specified number of passengers, please contact a local taxi company by phone.

In-app [≡]Menu > [Taxi Companies] > Select your prefecture or area
If you wish to ride in a taxi with a large group (5 or more people)
Requesting multiple vehicles
From the [Ride] > [Next] > [Request Taxi] screen, you can request multiple vehicles by increasing the number of vehicles requested.
Using GO PREMIUM
In some areas of Tokyo and Nagoya City, "GO PREMIUM" is available to request an ALPHARD or ELGRAND.
(Accommodates up to 6 passengers)
* A separate Premium charge will be incurred.
* This service is available exclusively with GO Pay.
